Have fun getting spooked in a graveyard

SITE OF THE DAY by Jeremy Holder

GRAVEYARDS aren’t strictly known as places you’d go for a barrel load of laughs. But today is Halloween, when traditionally ghosts and witches appear … and virtual tombstones hide dark, ghoulish fun.

Today’s top site, Halloween Graveyard, allows you to explore the darker side of things with tongue firmly rammed in cheek.

Fancy yourself as a ghostbuster ? Then click on the Games gravestone and try the Ghost Blaster game: a classic shoot ‘em up where the targets are - you’ve guessed it - a bit on the spectral side.

Then move to a neighbouring tombstone and get cursed by Griselda who is, apparently, “always crabby when she’s unearthed in the middle of the night”. This reviewer can expect an encounter with “motley purulence extruding from the slime gullet of a crone-like chicken”.

During your graveyard tour, you can also view the webmaster’s favourite tombstones and, while you are at it, browse through some genuine - and funny - epitaphs.

You’ll also meet a skull who tells your fortune, a rather suspect interactive cyber-ouija board plus info about Punky Night - a Jack-o-Lanterns festival held about now in two Somerset villages.

And don’t forget to try and get the better of Mervox the Magnificent, the magical black cat who without fail seemed to read this reviewer’s mind. Can you figure it out?
