Candle Divination
Place ten dinner candles in candlesticks on a table. They should be close together for children or spread out (possibly in groups) for adults. Light them all.

Bring contestants to the table one at a time. Blindfold the contestant, spin them around, and point them towards the table. Tell them they have three chances (breaths) to blow out as many candles as they can. Those in the audience should count '1-blow'...'2-blow'...'3-blow' at five second intervals. At each word 'blow' the blind contestant should try to extinguish all of the candles. (They don't get a chance in between blows to see how well they've done.)

The number of candles the contestant manages to extinguish determines their future. You are encouraged to make up your own list of fortunes for 1-10 candles. The following example is intended for an adult Halloween party.

1. You may suffer from resperatory problems.
2. You will not achieve your greatest aspirations.
3. You will tend to lask inspiration in life.
4. The flames of passion will always burn in you.
5. You will find it easy to keep your dreams alight.
6. Someone out there is burning with desire for you.
7. Who knows which way this wind blows?
8. The winds of change will bring you good fortune.
9. You are truely inspired to achieve you destiny.
10. The winds of fortune will blow you over!
